The best of women’s college basketball was on full display at The Prudential Center in Newark in the annual Coretta Scott King Classic, a Martin Luther King Day tradition that honors the legacy of Coretta Scott King while celebrating excellence and opportunity in the sport.

Long known for bringing top programs together on a national stage, this year’s Classic delivered especially competitive matchups. Unlike last year’s lopsided results, both games came down to the final moments, with #12 Ohio State coming back from an early 10 point deficit to defeat #9 TCU 71–69 and, #5 Vanderbilt held off a late charge by #7 Michigan 72–69 in thrilling finishes that lived up to the event’s storied reputation.
